Moderation

The moderation update which was released around late August of 2019. This update added the moderation system. Players are divided into four categories: default, blacklisted, whitelisted, and pending. This system is used to keep cheaters from getting records.

Moderation Rules

Moderation States

Default

All players who play the game for the first time will be in the default state. In this state players can get times and have times show up on the leaderboards. If they get a world record (first place) on any map, they will be moved into pending where they will be reviewed by the moderation team.

Pending

If a player gets their first world record, they will be moved into the pending state. In this state a player's times will not appear on leaderboards. New times that one gets in this state will be saved and appear if they are whitelisted or set back to default. If it is taking a while for the moderation team to review your time you can consider contacting a moderator through the bhop/surf discord.

Blacklist

In this state players cannot get new times and their times will not appear on the leaderboard. This state is meant for players who have cheated or otherwise broken a rule. You can appeal you blacklist by filling out the blacklist appeal form.

Whitelist

In this state players are allowed to get new times and world records freely. Whitelisted players who get world records will get global announcements in their respective game seen across all servers describing their time, style, and map. This state is meant for legitimate, trustworthy, and dedicated players.
